Adherence to traitors, Considering
the Righteous as Treacherous

There will be years of deceit, in which a truthful person will be disbelieved and a liar will be believed. (Ibn Kathir, Signs before the Day of Judgment)

The time will be years of confusion. People will believe a liar, and disbelieve one who tells the truth. (Ahmad)

The day of Judgment will not come until the very lowest people are the happiest. (Tirmidhi Hadiths)

The acceptance of lies and rejection of the truth are among the portents of doomsday. (Al-Tabarani)

The liar will be received well and the one who tells the truth will be objected. People will trust traitors and the ones who are trusty will be treated as traitors... Then lies will spread... (Fera Idu Fevaidi'l Fiqr Fi'l Imam al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar p. 146-147)

Tricky years lie before the Hour. At those times trusty people are accused and traitors are credited. The trusty is silenced. The liar is seen as reliable. (Ibn Asakir, History of Future 1, p. 40)

It is a sign of the Hour when the one who is not fit possesses a lot and is brought to a good status and the one who is capable is ousted. (Nu'aym ibn Hammad, Kitab al-fitan)

It can be understood from the hadiths that the increase in the amount of evil people, the fact those people claimed to be as trustworthy are liars, and the fact that some who are regarded as liars are actually trustworthy, are characteristics of the End Times.
