Israeli-Palestinian Peace Talks

There will be a peace agreement in Bayt al-Maqdis.
(Resalatul huruj ul-mahdi, vol. 3, p. 184)

Bayt al-Maqdis is the name of Masjid al-Aqsa. The reference of the hadith to Bayt al-Maqdis may well indicate an agreement that will take place in Jerusalem. Fighting and tension in Palestine have been going on for some 50 years. An important step towards bringing peace and security to these lands was taken at the 1993 peace negotiations in Oslo. No matter how unjust some of the decisions taken at Oslo were, and although some were unable to be fully implemented, the fact that the two sides did reach agreement on specific issues was an important development. In 2003, peace negotiations between the two sides are still going on today, particularly with the “Road Map” initiative.
