No money will be left to the Iraqis

"The Iraqis will be left with no weighing equipment and no money will be left to them with which to buy and sell." (Muntakhab Kanzul Ummaal, vol. 5, p. 45)

Another of the portents of the End Times, and thus of the coming of the Prophet Jesus, is the loss of value of Iraqi money.

This hadith may indicate two different situations. One of them is the economic collapse of Iraq after the Iran-Iraq war and the Gulf War. The Iraqi economy that faced a crisis with these wars could never recover in the post-war period due to the embargos imposed on the country. The Iraqi people grew even poorer and poverty became a major problem.

Another point indicated by the hadith is the abolishment of the Iraqi currency (dinar) in the post-war era. With the last war, the rapid value loss of the Iraqi currency and the possibility of its being taken out of the circulation appeared in the newspapers of the year 2003.
