A Great Battle between the Tigris
and the Euphrates
It is quite likely that the hadith calls attention to
the war between Iran and Iraq that took place in the near
past. As we saw in the previous pages, in this war between
the two Muslim countries, great clashes took place. Under
heavy bombardment, villages, towns and cities were reduced
to rubbles. Women, elderly people, children lost their
lives. The mass graves uncovered after the war reveal
that the casualties were much beyond the anticipated.
